This summer, residents and visitors to Clifton Village were asked to share photos during their travels to highlight the picturesque shops, views and landmarks people encounter as they discover the area.
Over 100 images have now been submitted and will be on display in a pop-up photo gallery in Clifton Library. The gallery will run from Friday 30th September to Monday 10th October.
Residents and visitors are now being asked to vote for their favourite photos, either by going into Clifton Library or viewing the gallery available on the Clifton Village Facebook. The top 10 images with the most votes will then be selected as postcard designs for the area.
The challenge was part of ‘Discover Clifton – 20 Ways’, an initiative launched earlier this year to demonstrate the various ways people can reach and explore the Village. The campaign was the brainchild of BID Clifton Village and was supported by funding from the Cabot, Clifton and Clifton East Neighbourhood Partnership scheme’s Wellbeing grant.
Andrew Morgan, chairman of BID Clifton Village commented: “Regardless of whether you’re visiting for work or pleasure, the Village can be reached via some of the most show stopping views in Bristol but rarely do people stop to take in the beautiful vistas on their journey.
“The Village’s Georgian architecture, green open spaces and cultural attractions make it such a beautiful area to visit. So many of these have been highlighted in the images captured this summer as people have travelled via the ferry boats, walked along the heritage trails through Clifton Wood and Brandon Hill, and taken in the beauty of the Downs and the Village as they’ve entered through the Promenade.”
