This year Waterloo Street was again entered into Bristol in Bloom’s Street Category for the most attractive shopping area. I think you will all agree the vegetable planters were spectacular and the Clifton Sausage had the most amazing display of hanging baskets. Thanks to the immense voluntary work of Sharon Baker and Rosie Joseland, Waterloo Street was awarded a Gold Award and Simon and his team at The Sausage won a Silver Gilt Award.
A huge thank you must also go to Clifton Rugby Club who very kindly volunteered their players to help dig the flower beds at the Suspension Bridge public toilets before Sharon and Rosie planted them. They also helped out, along with a team of litter pickers with a big street clean before the judging day.
Sharon and Rosie were delighted to attend the award ceremony last week and the Britain in Bloom results will be announced at the end of October. Collectively we owe you both a massive thank you for yet another amazing award and for personally ensuring Clifton continues to be a colourful and vibrant Village.
