Ring a Royal Phonebox by Timmy Mallett to be unveiled 11.00am Friday, August 18th 2017
Timmy Mallett painted a phone box 5 years ago in aid of ChildLine’s anniversary. It features members of the Royal family celebrating Britain in a phone box.
Her Majesty the Queen is featured with one of her favourite corgi dogs.
Prince Harry is striking the classic Usain Bolt’s lightning pose.
The Duchess of Cambridge is on her mobile with a pram.
The Royal Standard is draped over the top and the fourth side features a Union Jack.
The phonebox has been on public show since 2012 at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the O2 Arena and outside Windsor Castle.
Timmy was always intrigued by the idea of the Royals in a phone box and started with a huge Union Jack rippling over the back of the box. He then put three members of the Royal family in each of the windows. Her Majesty the Queen, beneath the Royal Standard looking quite excited to be on the phone with her beloved corgi at her feet and Timmy is always intrigued to hear people’s captions on what she might be saying.
There are some other Timmy elements – the Pinky Punky Mallet refers to Harry and William’s favourite show as kids; the yellow polka dots to Catherine’s first record she bought and the signature down below the Queen’s feet leads you to bow to her!
The Ring a Royal Phonebox, installed by Smiley Miley Events and supported by BID Clifton Village, will be positioned in its’ new home for the next couple of months in the Mall gardens (opposite the Ivy Restaurant and the Clifton Club) in Clifton Village. Timmy will unveil it at 11.00AM ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 18TH.
Timmy will be available for interviews and photo’s.
