Over the past few weeks Clifton Village has been busy raising money for BBC Children in Need. The events started with the annual Christmas Lights Switch On and in the run up to Children in Need, many shops and businesses went ‘Spotty’ sporting multi-coloured Pudsey spots in their windows. Over fifty collecting boxes were dotted around the Village in shops, cafes and offices and many businesses contributed with their own individual fundraising efforts.
Special thanks should go to Sky on Waterloo Street who raised a fantastic £320 from a raffle for one of their beautiful pictures, Barkers of Clifton who produced the heaviest collecting box, boasting £83 and The Ivy who very generously donated £250. On the 17th November we also had the pleasure of welcoming Pilo and his Piloxercise dancers back to the village for a fantastic lunch time fundraising flash mob. The sun came out and for 15 minutes the bottom of Waterloo Street become a perfect dance floor for everyone to enjoy!
As a result of everyone pulling together an impressive £1,600 has been raised for BBC Children in Need. A giant cheque was presented by Andrew Morgan MBE (BID Clifton Village Chair) and local businesses Lisa Elliott Flowers, The Kitchen Man, Barkers of Clifton, Sky and Bracey Interiors. A big thank you to everyone involved and all those in Clifton Village. A great community effort I think you will agree!
