Clifton Village Lights Up

On Wednesday 12th November, crowds were dazzled in the Mall Gardens by the lighting of our spectacular 50ft Christmas tree.   And this year, marking the 150th anniversary of the Clifton Suspension Bridge, we were joined by the legendary Isambard Kingdom Brunel himself.

Mr Brunel (aka Simon String who usually plays the part of Brunel on board the SS Great Britain), donned his costume for the evening to join Bristol’s Lord Mayor in officially turning on the Clifton lights and starting our countdown to Christmas.

And as part of our Suspension Bridge celebrations, a life size replica of Mr Brunel will be taking up residence next to the Mall Gardens Christmas tree until the end of December. Come on down to meet Brunel and share your best photos with us on Twitter @Cliftonvillage. We look forward to seeing them!
