This week Clifton Village launched its Christmas celebrations with the official Christmas Lights Switch On. The star of the evening was a 50ft Christmas Tree in The Mall Gardens, home to a few very special decorations. For those observant visitors it was a clue to the night’s special guest…yes, the one and only Pudsey Bear!
This year BID Clifton Village is proudly supporting BBC Children in Need and with the generosity of local businesses and visitors, the impressive sum of £750.00 was collected. Fundraising is continuing over the next few weeks, so this figure will continue to grow. Many of the retailers in the Village are going ‘spotty’ for Children in Need, displaying colourful spotty stickers on their windows. They look fantastic and everyone is welcome to enjoy a multi-coloured walk around the Village.
A special thank you must be extended to Bristol Zoo, Waitrose, Clifton College and The Avon Gorge Hotel who all provided volunteers on the night and the Rev Paul Langham and his wonderful Christ Church Choir. The Christmas Lights are made possible thanks to the support of the BID members, funding from BID Clifton Village and organisation from Smiley Miley Events.
